Journaling Through Scripture

One way I love to engage Scripture is to journal through it.

You'll start with a blank page with the Scripture either written or typed in the middle.  Leave large margins and wide spaces between the lines.

I've kept a journal of verses in the past... sometimes the verses were written, or just glued in in the middle.  That' works, too!

Now, here comes the fun part.  As you think through the Scripture, write out your prayers and thoughts... working through it word-by-word and phrase-by-phrase.

This helps me meditate on God's Word and hide it in my heart.  It's amazing how much I think about that verse throughout the day.

There's just one caveat.  It is so very easy to take verses out of context, so make sure you read the entire passage before and after you journal so that you really look at the author's meaning and don't create your own meaning.
