Two of our high school boys came to ask if they could make valentines. So, we sat in my classroom surrounded by glue, scissors, glitter, and markers. I kept trying to pry out of them the names of the recipients. Silence and shrugs were my answers. After an hour, each had finished his valentine (me, too) and we cleaned up. When they left they both handed me their valentines and said, "Happy Valentine's Day." How could it not be happy now?
